Abigail Garcia, a young student who loved chemistry met with a fatal car
accident soon after she sent Carl Zimmer, a science writer who frequently writes for the NYTimes, a picture of her tattoo
marking her love for the concept of entropy. The picture was for the book 'Science Ink: Tattoos of the Science Obsessed.' A year later Mr. Zimmer
found out from a note left on his blog that a woman who had a double
lung transplant was celebrating a new life because of Abigail. Abigail
Garcia was her donor. Carl Zimmer writes, “Life and memory alike defy
the relentless grind of entropy.” And as this turn of events show kindness lives on through life’s
vicissitudes. Kindness saves.
