Last week the question of unkindness came up. Twice. A thoughtful woman enquiring about participating in this project brought up the question of unkindness. We discussed situations where individuals are discriminated because of their race or sexual orientation. That's unkind we agreed. Examples abound.
A young man selling electronic goods, listened attentively as I explained the project. "What about unkindness?" he asked. We laughed. Let's invite people to draw and write about acts of unkindness we decided. Why not?
Shadows indicate the presence of light. Thinking about an unkind act should remind us about a kind act as well. Both happen. Celebrating the kind acts. That's what this project is about.
